It’s hit the point where I’ve just got to get things started. I have procrastinated on this for over 2 years now, so long so that I can’t even remember all the invalid reasons I’ve given myself to justify the delay. To emphasise the time that has passed, I explained this concept to a girl I was on my second date with in a bar at Exmouth Market, that girl is now my fiance! My just reward for these constant delaying tactics is that we now all find ourselves in a very different world than we were in back then. One where instinctively the task at hand seems harder. There are some upsides though, any drastic change like this always creates opportunity so identifying opportunities that didn’t exist before may prove key. Secondly, if I can get some momentum going now then it puts me in very good stead for when the world starts to normalise (although who knows what the new normal will be?).
My starting move was always going to be selling homemade lunches to work colleagues. Something I had done accidentally in the past and was a relatively simple first step. Not so simple when I now work from home however! So that one is moved to the back burner for now and a couple of plan Bs will be brought into action.
Anyway the key here is I’m starting this journey now, no more delays, its in words, its out there and now I have some accountability.
